Hypnotherapy
Alice A. Amos, LMHC, CH, is the Clinical Director of the Center for Creative
Counseling, LLC in Boca Raton, Florida. Hypnotherapy has brought about positive
changes in the lives of millions of people. Ms. Amos believes that as people
become more accepting of themselves, they are more capable of finding happiness
and contentment in their lives.
Hypnotherapy is an effective and speedy means of
working with the mind. It makes use of the natural techniques of hypnosis to
gain swift access to deeply rooted anxieties and problems. Hypnosis is
completely safe and will not work without the consent and total cooperation
of the person being hypnotized.
Hypnotherapy is a process of communication
between the patient and the therapist. Hypnosis constitutes the core of the
treatment. Hypnosis is defined as a state of focus - a focus of ideas and
suggestions.
The only way to change a behavior is to first be aware of it.
Once an idea is accepted by the subconscious mind, it stays there until
another one replaces it. Hypnosis uses positive suggestions to put another
thought in its place - permanently.
Hypnosis may be used to quit smoking,
lose weight, eliminate fears, phobias, and depression, or address issues of
self esteem.
